Upon launching REVER with a GoPro camera associated, the camera is not automatically re-connected and all Recording Zones default to inactive. This allows the user to decide if they are using a GoPro during their REVER session, and choose which zones to activate.
The button on the Main Map (shown above) will be gray, noting the disconnected state. The user needs to turn on their camera and then tap the GoPro button to reconnect. Once connected, the user can activate the regions for that session.
This prevents significant amounts of unnecessary processing and saves battery on both the phone and the GoProcamera.
To fully reset the REVER x GoPro integration, complete these steps:
You can use a GoPro HERO 9 or HERO 10 with thelatest firmware installed. We highly recommend using the new Enduro battery forbetter performance in cold weather and improved battery life.
If you still have issues, follow the Complete Reset instructions above.
We highly recommendusing the GoPro Enduro battery and have consistently tested for around 2 hourswith equal times in standby and recording. Of course there are many factorsthat impact battery life, so make sure you head out with a stash of fully chargedEnduro batteries!
While use of the GPS and Bluetooth impact battery life, a fully charged phone will typically last up to 8 hours, while afully charged GoPro Enduro battery will last up to 2 hours.
Not at this time. The current REVER integration only supports connecting to and controlling one GoPro camera.
Yes, and the icon on the REVER map screen will properly reflect recording state. If you manually Stop recording while inside a Recording Zone, the camera will immediately Start recording again. To Stop recording while inside a Recording Zone, you need to set the Recording Zone to inactive.
Yes, and a number of smaller recording zones is recommended over a single large zone (unless that’s what you really want!)Free-form drawing of zones provides ultimate precision and better footage. Avoid overlapping zones for best results.
If you are traveling at a high rate of speed, make sure to include a ‘buffer’ to ensure the GPS and camera have time to start and stop near your zone of interest. The phone only receives GPS updates every second, so at high speeds, a lot of ground can be covered in that time. Plan ahead and you’ll be stoked!
You can use GoPro Quik and REVER at the same time, you’ll just need to manually disconnect the camera from REVER first. This can be done using the ‘plug’ icon in the header of the Recording Zone List.
You can swipe left on the row in the Recording Zone List or tap the zone and use the Delete button at the bottom of theDetails view.
