Meet The REVER Staff:
Name: Bob Roberts
Age: 55
Riding experience in years: 16
First motorcycle owned: Not sure, but the second was a 125 Harley Enduro
Current motorcycles owned: 2015 Ninja Z1000
Favorite type of riding: Right side up—on the street
What inspired you to start riding motorcycles? I rode for a few years as a kid, and then never really rode again until about 14 years ago. I always wanted a Kawasaki Ninja, I first had a 650 but now have a Z1000. I love to go fast and doing that on a bike is just an amazing feeling.
Where is your favorite place to ride? Wickenburg to Prescott, Arizona, has the best twisties!
Where is the single-most epic place you’ve ridden a motorcycle? Same. Wickenburg to Prescott, AZ.
If you could ride anywhere in the world, where would that be? Isle of Man—but not racing!!
What is the coolest motorcycle you’ve ever ridden? I like turtles and I love my Z1000.
If you could ride any single motorcycle in the world, what would it be? BMW S1000RR!
What does motorcycling mean to you and your lifestyle? I love to ride. I tend to take a few three-day trips throughout the year and just ride somewhere. I miss living in AZ, as I used to ride there a lot more. There were a couple of riding groups that rode pretty much every Saturday.
Are you a lone wolf or a social butterfly? Hmm, both. There are times when I love to be around other people and then there are times that I love to be alone. That holds true for riding. I used to love group rides but many times I preferred to ride alone at my pace, and go where I want to go.
What about the Rever app do you like most? Twisty Road function!!
Tell us more about your work history? I have been doing full time Ruby on Rails development since about 2009. I have worked for big corps, startups, and done a lot of contract gigs. I think it has given me the opportunity to learn different techniques and how to inject myself into existing development teams.
Why did you want to work at REVER? OMG, MOTORCYCLES! I already had the REVER app and I would get the normal marketing emails. Then I got one and almost deleted it, until I saw that it was from a recruiter! That was a great day.
Tell us one fun fact about you? I am a big nerd and have spent years working on my family genealogy. Fun fact, not sure, but it is a fact.
