We may need more context to fully understand the issue. If you are using TxT, this could be a result of missing a waypoint. You can skip waypoints by clicking the arrow in the lower right corner.
Currently, there is not a way to set a preferred view. This is a great suggestion and we have shared this with the dev team.
RLink is a 3rd party hardware that is hosted in REVER. Unfortunately, we do not have full control over their product. Although, we are aware of the issue and you can expect a major update/permanent fix to be announced by RLink.
Not right now, Jerry. But we’ve got something in the works I think you’ll like.
We appreciate it, Lutz. This is Paul from the Tech team so all this feedback/ideas are great.
Auto-Pause Tracking is a current feature in REVER. In the app, go to the Profile tab > select settings and toggle on Auto-Pause Tracking.
We’ve had a lot of interest in estimated time/distance between waypoints and this feature is on our roadmap.
Rides added to communities are not editable, however, you can plan your own routes over the top of BDR routes using the ADVanced Off-Road Planner.
In REVER you can build a community and add rides and events. Communities are searchable on the web and the app. Join a community to find new rides or people to ride with.
Hey Keith, its definteily something we have on the list but its a pretty big chunk of work so its tough to get prioritized. Its always good to know there are people interested though
Dirt roads are not separately categorized, but you can see quite a bit of detail using Satellite Map Style, Render Map style in 3D and zooming in to identify dirt and gravel roads. You can also use the Land Use map style to identify BLM and USFS land.
If it’s a planned route find your route either in the Ride tab or Create Ride and Load Route > Select it and click Edit Route > click Add Stop and enter gas station. You can hold the stop and move it to the correct position. (Pro Tip: Turn on Fuel POIs from your map layers button.)
Without looking at the source GPX file it’s hard to say. It may have included POIs instead of waypoints
There is no limit to the number of rides you can upload.
It sounds like you were using Turn by Turn directions. TxT will continue to navigate to your next waypoint. You can bypass this by skipping your waypoint. You can also provide feedback to Mapbox (3rd party mapping provider) about road closures, quality, positioning, etc. Just select the comment box logo on the right side below the audio on/off toggle.
Improved CarPlay functionality is on our roadmap. You can reach out to us at support@rever.co for troubleshooting.
Make sure you have your planned trip and maps downloaded for offline use. If you don’t have cell service but are not in airplane mode, your phone may still be looking for a signal. Put it in airplane mode and you should be able to access your downloaded route.
All crashes are reported to the developers. You may be prompted to leave a comment about a crash. If you have any questions or comments you can email support@rever.co
Try using the new ADVanced Off-road Planner. This will allow you to plan over most roads
Hey Aaron, a lot of the turn by turn logic is from our mapping provider MapBox. We are constantly monitoring for their latest releases for any improvements they add.
There are no standard road ratings in REVER Routes as is. A description of the route may be included, but roads are ridden at your own risk.
This can be changed in your phone settings. Go to settings > Display & Brightness > Choose your brightness on the slider. When your phone gets hot, it will automatically dim your screen as well, so keep that in mind.
Possibly. Send us your GPX file to support@rever.co and we’ll take a look.
This is not a current feature in REVER, but we are interested in adding this functionality.
Thank you for the feedback. You can add any rides you want to display on the map (up to 9) by adding them to your favorites. Go to My Activities on the web > Scroll down to the map and select Favorites
We suggest that you export as a "Track" then drop it/copy into the GPX folder. Once there, you can open it up on the Garmin under "Tracks." If you wish to have turn by turn navigation, then you can convert to a trip in the settings of Track.
This issue should be resolved with the latest update.
The recenter button is located at the lower right corner of the map, just above the temperature. If you manually move the map, then you must tap the recenter button (it looks like a target or compass) for the location indicator to follow along with you.
As long as you travel through the geofence of the waypoint, REVER will automatically navigate to the next one.
Hey Greg, thats not currently on the roadmap but I’ll speak with the devs about this when we review the feedback from this session.
Yes, this is on our radar.
Different external GPS devices may utilize separate file types. If you are using the BMW Navigator 5 or 6, I suggest using the Garmin track export as this is a Garmin product that is rebranded and we have found the Track option to work the best.
The best practice is to download a route or map for offline use if you are unsure of cell coverage, however, REVER uses predictive caching while you ride which intuitively stores data when you do have service, so you may not experience any disruptions to navigation when you go in and out of service.
This can be caused by a couple situations:
1. Using Twisty Roads or Avoid Hwy/Tolls
2. Not including any waypoints between the beginning and end, causing the app to find the quickest route to the next waypoint.
3. Not including enough waypoints to keep the route on track. (up to 25).
We do not have this on our immediate pipeline, but we hope to have it in the future. As a workaround, you can access the REVER website from your mobile device and download a GPX file that way.
Your tracked ride data will be maintained while switching between different rides, although, you must ensure that you do not hit “Finish” ride. The line on the map acting as your breadcrumbs will reset when you start a new ride, but the stats should remain.
Unfortunately, these settings aren't compatible with TxT directions, because there are no waypoints to keep the route on track. You can include up to 25 waypoints in order to Keep TxT directions on your intended route
Hey Lutz, we are currently working on a refreshed UX for the web planner that is going to make waypoint management a lot easier. Its a pet peeve of mine so its definitely getting a refresh.
Hey Lutz, that is unfortunately a tough thing to change due to some early design decisions, but I’ll be recording all this feedback.
Whatever With REVER will be a monthly series.
That would be really cool. I’ll take that back to think about as far as how we’d actually make that work. Definitely check out the new ADVanced Offroad Planner! Thats currently the best way we know of anywhere to plan offroad routes.
Hey Robb, I haven’t tried that recently, but I’ll take a look.
Thanks for the suggestion, we do have this on the radar for iOS. Android will resume your ride if there is an issue.
HeyLutz, we’ve talked about dark mode but battery life is a great reason to goafter it. We do have the ability to create custom layers, I’ll look intocreating something with higher contrast.
If the rides were created in REVER you can edit them and add a new starting point. If they were imported as GPX files you will needto edit the source file.
